Five lessons comprise the Persuasion Across Time and Space Instructional Unit module. Middle schoolers examine the persuasive techniques used in video and print advertisements and how ethos, pathos, and logos appeals are used in persuasive historical speeches. At the end of the unit, English language learners demonstrate what they have learned by crafting their own persuasive stories and essays. Although designed for ELL classes, the unit is appropriate for all learners.
