As part of the study of Civil Liberties, the students will do research on Civil Rights Supreme Court Cases and amendments that changed America. In groups, students will use various websites, books and newspaper articles to acquire information about Supreme Court cases that have shaped American government over the years. Groups will then present a video of a reenactment of important events associated to their cases to be presented to the class. This lesson is intended to be completed over a five-day period (depending on class sizes and presentation days).
