Through this simulation, students will understand the role of camouflage in keeping animals from attracting attention of their predators. Using newspaper and patterned wrapping paper, students will construct two habitats. Students will then compete in timed hunts to spot and collect objects within the habitats and will graph the results of their hunt. This lesson plan was created as a result of the Girls Engaged in Math and Science University, GEMS-U Project.
