This lesson is a hands-on, cross-curricular lesson for exploring non-standard measurement. It utilizes children's literature, manipulatives, opportunities for writing, and small group collaborative learning. Students will meaningfully use vocabulary associated with measurement. This lesson could be used as part of a unit on the author, Dr. Seuss, or at any time during the school year in conjunction with the math program.
