This activity is designed to use online technology resources to practice and reinforce knowledge learned in class on Moon Phases. Middle schoolers will view online animations with student interaction, while keeping a log of their phase activities. They will also take an online assessment upon completion of the activity. Following this activity, students will use Oreo cookies to make the phases of the moon in order from new moon through one complete phase and identify each. They will also take pictures of each of their cookie phases and insert into a multimedia slideshow project. On the last page of the slideshow, they can insert a video made with video editing software such as "Movie Maker" and the pictures will loop together that show the moon's phases all in one motion.
