An interactive PowerPoint will be used to introduce the electromagnetic spectrum. Students use UV beads to observe changes caused by the sun's rays and evaluate sunscreen effectiveness. Harmful effects of UV exposure will be described along with preventative measures.This lesson plan was created as a result of the Girls Engaged in Math and Science, GEMS Project, funded by the Malone Family Foundation.
