This activity gives the students the opportunity to see what an inch really looks like. It also provides them with a chance to be creative using various inch materials and to create a visual for what an inch is. It is a great lesson to integrate reading and art. This lesson plan was created as a result of the Girls Engaged in Math and Science, GEMS Project funded by the Malone Family Foundation.
