Anglo saxons.net: England C.450 1066 in a Nutshell

Curated by ACT

This site has a wealth of information on the Anglo-Saxon period in England. A few questions at the beginning provide general background. For more specific details, you can search the timeline, an On This Day section, or the list of rulers, archbishops and abbots of the period. In addition, the site provides the texts of four poems, "The Wanderer," "The Seafarer," "Deor," and "Havamal." Each poem can be viewed in both the original language and in modern English translation. Eleven maps also show how England changed between about 700 AD and 1000 AD.
