An activity where students create a timeline of the history of the Universe, beginning with the Big Bang almost 14 billion years ago, but compress it into one year. Younger students must be able to order events, while older students need to understand ratios so they can calculate where events fall on the timeline. The activity can also be adapted to cover a shorter time span, e.g., since the beginning of our Earth. A list of cosmic events is included, as well as a cosmic timeline table for older students to record their calculations on.
