Backyard Weather Station

Curated and Reviewed by Lesson Planet

Challenge young meteorologists to apply their knowledge of weather to build their own weather stations. The resource provides the directions to build a weather station that contains a wind vane, barometer, thermometer, and rain gauge. Pupils use their senses to observe the weather and make a generalized forecast. The class then uses the data collected over several days to create a more detailed forecast.
