Students use 2 sets of colored beans to represent the genes of an organism. In this genetic probability lesson plan, students use the colored beans to represent the genotypes of offspring which they pull out of a box at random while the teacher times them for 1 minute. The class compiles their data and students calculate the class ratios of offspring as well as their individual data. They compare the expected ratios to the actual ratios of offspring.
