Young scholars study the concept of fraction using mathematical reasoning. In this problem solving fraction lesson plan, students use various methods to explain their reasoning in solving fractions. Young scholars use a number of different prompts to determine the value of a hexagon, triangle, and trapezoid. Students also discuss with a partner how many ingredients are found in a trail mix and the fractions are as described in the lesson plan.
