Chem1 Virtual Textbook: What Is Pseudoscience?

Curated by ACT

Pseudoscience studies various fields of science that make claims to be legitimate, but researchers and academics argue that pseudoscientific discoveries do not hold up to typical standards of testing and proof. Examples are the Lunar Effect, Ufology, Homeopathy; while they may exist, the tests conducted are inconclusive therefore putting the topics in pseudoscience. This resource provided by a retired chemistry teacher does not debunk these sciences, but rather points out why subjects can still be questioned and suggests methods of how to determine pseudoscience or junk science from tried and true scientific proofs.
