[Free Registration/Login may be required to access all resource tools.] The following online tutorial explains the basis of VSEPR theory. It helps students predict the shapes of molecules and polyatomic ions using VSEPR theory and it account for variations in bond angles based on the relative repulsive forces exerted by lone pairs and bonding pairs of electrons. Students will be asked to describe the relationship between molecular geometry and electron domain geometry.
