[Free Registration/Login Required] This flipchart was created to use with the story, Flight, by Robert Burleigh, in the Scott Foresman Reading Series for third grade. Students will preview and predict what the story will be about. The main skill introduced and practiced throughout is making judgments. The flipchart covers story vocabulary, along with numerous vocabulary activities. There are many graphic organizers and journal writing opportunities. The flipchart contains a genre study on biographies, a KWL for assessing prior knowledge of aircrafts, a link to a student map activity, and an embedded video about Charles Lindbergh. There are many opportunities for student interaction throughout. The last fifteen pages include story-related word work with plurals, homophones, nouns, word concepts, pronouns, and context clues.
