Who are you? Scholars draw a shield on the front of their journals that includes four items with which they identify and discuss them with a partner. Readers then use topic suggestions from the board to write about themselves on the first page. On page two, pupils complete sentence stems related to speaking English. After viewing a video about a blind man and a woman, they discuss the differences in perspective and write the story from one of the character's point of view.
