Middle schoolers discuss the meaning of a variety of common phrases. As a class, they are tested on how to use those phrases. They participate in a puzzle game in which they are given a statement to describe the phrase and they are to say it as it would be said to others. To end the lesson, they develop their own sayings to be used in the game.
