What comes next? Young counters follow the stone path to each house, filling in numbers in a sequence as they go. Some of these move forward and some backward, but all progress by ones. Learners start with given numbers and then follow the arrows as they move to the house, recording the final number in the sequence on it. There is an example done for them, and they use double-digit numbers up to 25 here. Consider extending this in a fun way by assigning each learner a number and giving them a rock to decorate with this number. Once finished, they go outside and work together to get all the rocks in order, first forwards and then backwards!
