Lord Kelvin (William Thomson) developed electrostatic theory and a range of novel and interesting electrostatic apparatuses. Described here is a reconstruction of a water dropper electrostatic generator. It's capable of generating several thousand volts but at very low current. It's a high voltage generator but develops no real usable power so it's really only for fun and to investigate static electricity.
