Out of this world math and science are mixed together on a worksheet that would be a great enrichment activity classrooms that are studying our solar system. The information presented is best suited toward middle school math, and specifically targeted for 6th graders who work with percentages and ratios. No matter what grade level, all classes will be interested in learning more about landing on The Red Planet, deceleration speed of the rover, and how long the trip was to Mars. Don't alienate the video listed in additional materials. It shows how the rover launched on November, 26, 2011, was able to decelerate from a speed of 13,200 miles per hour 1.7 miles per hour in only 7 minutes!
