There are “a million things to talk about. . .” in Ray Bradbury’s Dandelion Wine; however, the focus of this socratic seminar is the issue of living and dying. Class members prepare for the discussion by writing about their own views of life and death. After a review of socratic seminar rules, students conduct the discussion, reminded by Bradbury that good discussions, like life, “should be touched, not strangled.” Quotes on life and death taken from the novel, a copy of seminar rules, and a template for outer circle note takers are included.
