Learners explore the concept of density. For this density lesson plan, students determine the density of a crown and a sample of clay. They hypothesize about the densities of 4 liquids they are given including molasses, cooking oil, a red solution and a blue solution. Learners mix the liquids and determine their densities in relation to each other. Students then predict the densities of objects and drop them into their layered solutions. Learners summarize their results.
