Instructional Ideas
- After presenting, have partners write a brief paragraph to turn in to demonstrate their writing skills and understanding of prepositions
- Have students write a sentence during each presentation that includes a preposition to show that they were listening actively
- Require pairs to briefly label their drawings with the prepositions (they already label the items)
Classroom Considerations
- Learners will need to already know the vocabulary words for living room items before beginning
- While the actual worksheets are fairly basic, the activity itself involves creative thinking, skills practice, collaboration, and presentation practice
Pros
- Rather than simply having kids write sentences or circle prepositions, this activity requires learners to use these words in a more relevant context and in creative ways
- Includes plenty of opportunities for students to use prepositions while speaking
Cons
- None
