What shape is this? Youngsters begin by examining a square (have them identify it) and tracing two more before drawing a couple on their own in the provided space. Next, they look at three familiar images to count all the squares they see, totaling the number in the box (which is also a square, so you may want to clarify that it does/doesn't count). Consider extending this by asking scholars to draw their own image including as many squares as they can.
