A map of the Battle of Pultawa, or Pultava in present day Ukraine, during the Great Northern War. The battle was between the army of Peter I of Russia and the army of the Charles XII of Sweden. This battle, fought on 25th June, 1709, resulted in a great victory for Peter the Great and the Tsardom of Russia.
