Educational Technology Clearinghouse: Maps Etc: Eastern Canada, 1885

Curated by ACT

A map from 1885 of eastern Canada showing the provinces of Ontario, Quebec, New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island, Nova Scotia, with an inset map of Newfoundland. This map shows the county boundaries for the region, including the open-ended counties in Quebec north of the St. Lawrence River. Smaller counties are numbered and referenced on the key in the lower left corner of the map. The northern boundaries of Ontario and Quebec are established by the watershed divide of the headwaters of the Ottawa, that is, rivers draining to Hudson Bay and the Arctic Ocean, and rivers draining to the St. Lawrence Valley.
