The second routine in the series designed to help teachers face this challenge has participants create emojis that represent how they are feeling. They then complete a quick write that explains why they chose that emoji. Finally, the class brainstorms strategies or a list of words of encouragement that they could use to help peers who are not feeling optimistic.
