In this measurement instructional activity, students use a measuring tape to measure suggested items located in the classroom, such a table or desk. Kids measure to the nearest 1/16th of an inch. They calculate the surface area of each item. Students determine the range between the largest and smallest surface area. This two-page instructional activity contains approximately seven multi-step problems.
