The primary physiographic regions of Andes Mountains, Llanos, Sierra Parime (Highlands of Guiana), Selvas, Matto Grosso, Brazilian Mountains, Gran Chaco, Pampas, and Patagonia are shown, as well as the elevations of prominent peaks. An inset chart shows a cross-section of the Andes and Amazon Basin from Quito to Cape St. Roque.
