Eternal Egypt: Painted Ceramic Urn

Curated by ACT

The painted hydria, or three-handled water jug, of Hadara was made of ceramic. The hydria is a product of the Laurel atelier, or workshop: the neck is decorated with laurel leaves, and on the shoulder a palm framed with volutes, which are spiral or scroll-shaped forms.
