Eternal Egypt: Stela of Mesenu

Curated by ACT

At the top of this rectangular stela, there are two versions of the offering formula beginning with the phrase hetep-di-nesw, which means "a gift, which the king gives," and is at the same time a prayer asking for offerings to be brought to the deceased. The owner of the stela, Mesenu, was married to two wives. He is depicted together with Ibhat on the right, and with Kit-Anket on the left.
