Practice place value through writing numbers in expanded form; scholars do this with numbers up to five digits. There are two examples to demonstrate the process, and the problems are split into four distinct sections to keep pupils engaged. First, they determine the value of a specific digit in five different numbers based on its placement, repeating this for five more numbers and a different digit. Next, they circle all numbers from a set that have sevens valuing 70 (in the tens place). Finally, scholars write out six numbers in expanded form, all of which are four digits or more.
