Two young scholars are blindfolded and each receives a cardboard square, one with pompoms glued around the edge and one with pompoms glued all over the surface. They identify what they feel. The class discusses perimeter and area of polygons. Students listen as the teacher reads "The Greedy Triangle" and reviews the names of the shapes. Young scholars visit the computer lab and explore several sites that include virtual manipulatives and enable students to explore perimeter and area.
