Students practice experiencing writing with appropriate language and incorporating the eight parts of speech. They assess that many words have multiple functions when used in different contexts. Each student free writes in response to a picture or scene, identify the parts of speech in it and compose a story about the picture or scene using descriptive words and phrases.
