Curated and Reviewed by Lesson Planet

Instructional Ideas
  • If your class is large, you might want to set up two of each station so there are fewer kids per group as they rotate
Classroom Considerations
  • Requires some nonstandard science equipment such as an assortment of wind-up toys with different actions
  • Ideally the two pages of the worksheet should be printed in color; alternatively they could be printed large and displayed as posters
  • Be aware of any potential allergies, especially to the gelatin and food coloring
Pros
  • Includes types of energy many pupils don't consider such as sound and elastic
  • Pacing keeps scholars engaged and active
  • Uses think-pair-share and KWL chart
Cons
  • None
