Instructional Ideas
- Place pupils in groups of no larger than three
- Teachers may want to model each portion of the activity, allow time for pairs to complete them on their computers, and then move on to the next step; this will keep everyone on task, moving through the lab efficiently, and allows time for questions
Classroom Considerations
- Classes should be able to read and understand graphs as well as be able to calculate slope
- Teachers need to familiarize themselves with the GEEBITT excel simulation before using in class, and it must be copied onto all computers before the activity begins
Pros
- Extensive directions and an answer key are found on pages 13-18
- Using slope to predict future scenarios offers students a way to apply critical thinking and analysis skills
Cons
- None
