Here is a terrific lesson plan on poetry! Learners bring in the lyrics to their favorite song. A class discussion ensues regarding what makes a song "catchy." After analyzing the alliteration of the poems, learners read the poem "This Morning," and identify the elements of poetry that have been discussed. Groups work together to answer questions about the poem, and they report their findings to the class. Good worksheets are embedded in the plan.
