Middle schoolers redesign their school to make it more energy efficient, and create a model of their design. Learners get together in groups of 5, and they take on the task of making their school more energy efficient. To do this, they must address real issues at the school such as lighting, insulation, types of heat sources, and other aspects that must meet certain thresholds in order for the school to become "green certified." The terrific, real-life lesson should excite and challenge your pupils to do their best work. Each group's plan of action is presented to the principal and school board.
