Use the Total Physical Response (TPR) strategy to practice Spanish greetings as well as where and who question prompts. Comprised of five days, this short unit is taught completely in Spanish with call-and-response exercises, group activities, gesturing, and interactive games like charades. As a final assessment, small groups come up with skits to demonstrate a specific saludo, or greeting.

Classroom Considerations
- Although the unit suggests these are 20-minute segments, you may find that they are much longer. Consider allowing more time for groups to create their skits
- iPads and an interactive whiteboard are suggested but not required; skits can be recorded with other devices or simply performed live
- If you don't have an audio or video conversation (for day three), consider just speaking aloud with a more advanced student using a script
Pros
- Examples are provided of all activities and handouts; use these or just use them as inspiration
Cons
- None
