Students follow written directions to construct their own tangram. In this tangram lesson plan, students use their tangram to develop original figures that illustrate characters and/or objects from their favorite nursery rhyme. Students also calculate the perimeter and area for each figure in addition to writing a detailed summary of the geometry involved.
