Batter up! "Homerun Derby" is an activity to practice hitting a ball with a bat. Younger players should use a batting tee. Older players could have their own team pitcher or an opposing team pitcher. The goal is to just hit the ball for distance. Cones are set up in a straight line going towards the pitcher and second base. The distance between the cones is determined by age level. The older players are the more distance between the cones. There is no base running in this activity, but score is kept according to where imaginary runners would be based on how far a player hit the ball.
