Students identify the textures of materials in their environments in order to expand their language, math, sensory, and observational skills. In this sensory activity lesson, students first write a list of different words to describe textures (such as sticky, smooth, etc); they then brainstorm objects that feel each of these ways, and locate items in the classroom that match these words. Students share their results as a class by creating a floor graph to analyze their findings.</
