Learners observe how objects are put together. In pairs, students identify as many parts of a toy as possible. They explore how the parts fit together and how each part works. Learners speculate how the object would be affected if a part were missing or broken. After a discussion about the important parts of the toy, students write a sentence telling something they learned about the toy and explain how the toy is constructed.
