In this instructional activity, 11th graders look at what happened to the Japanese who were living in the United States during World War II and examine their experiences of internment. They will also consider the constitutionality of removing some civil liberties in a time of war. Includes background information for the teacher. Students explore resource materials on the government's policies, the experiences of Japanese detainees, and life in an internment camp. Student resources are included in the instructional activity.
