Students view a video, and they are reminded that Impressionism was an artistic movement that begin in Pairs in the 1800s. They are asked to think about the paintings featured in the video and describe the typical style of these works. Students create a classroom Impressionist and post impressionist exhibition to compare and contrast some of the major artists of the movement. They work in small groups and they are explained that each group is going to create a mini-exhibit about one Impressionist.
