International Committee for Egyptology: The Global Egyptian Museum

Curated by ACT

The Global Egyptian Museum is an ambitious, long-term project that intends to eventually gather digitized versions of artifacts from Egyptian history that are housed in museums around the world. This amounts to 850 collections and 69 countries. The collection is searchable in Basic Mode by object category, material, period of history, region, and location of museum. Additional search criteria are available in the Advanced Mode, which searches the entire database. Each object is accompanied by descriptive text and many have audio and video components as well. The site also has a glossary of over 400 terms related to the study of ancient Egypt, which is also a rich source of information. The website has a separate Kids section for children ages 8 to 12.
