What does this pie chart mean? Once scholars can analyze a circle graph on a basic level (i.e. "Most people prefer cats"), it's time to delve deeper into it. They examine two graphs here, and are given the total number of participants for each. The first has each section labelled with a fraction, and learners determine the number of participants and answer four questions. For the next graph, each section has the total number of responders in each section and learners translate the numbers to fractions of the total. Consider having small groups tally the class and create their own pie charts, then write analysis questions for other groups to answer.
