This article examines the impact of the Bonneville Dam and the Glen Canyon Dam, both in the American West, and examines how there has been a negative impact on the surrounding wildlife, peoples, and even Mexico. The article also discusses the positive and negative effects of the dams from ecological, biological, political, and economic points of view. A good example for the study of a negative externality. Part of a project on large dams in the western U.S. produced by Kenyon College students.
