Learning math is so much more fun when it involves playing games. Following the rules of the classic game Memory, young mathematicians flip over two cards at a time as they look for numbers whose sum or difference is equal to the value on a third target card. When successful, students write down the related addition or subtraction equation, remove and replace the cards they used, and allow the next child to take his turn. This fun and simple game would make a great learning center activity, helping young learners to develop their fluency with addition and subtraction.
