Eighth graders explore Louisville, KY area Underground Railroad museums. In this Underground Railroad lesson, 8th graders read Day of Tears by Julius Lester as well as other listed articles. Students discover how the railroad worked as they discuss the readings and visit the suggested field trip sites. As a culminating activity, students read Incidents in the Life of a Slave Girl.
